Nestled amidst the rolling hills, thoughtful design and curated pieces blend to create a space that reflects both personal style and the natural beauty of the Southern Highlands. This beautiful home, set in Country NSW, is a sanctuary where lush green paddocks paint a picturesque outlook from every window. A wraparound balcony invites you to step into the crisp, open air, embracing the tranquillity that blankets the rolling hills.
One of Few & Far’s Interior Stylists, had the privilege of completing an in-home restyle for a regular customer of our Bowral store including an Entrance, Living Room, Master Bedroom, and Ensuite.
We started by immersing ourselves in her world, understanding not just her aesthetic preferences, but the daily rhythm of her life and how her family lives in this space.
We worked to create rooms that not only looked beautiful but also functioned seamlessly throughout their week. This resulted in a bespoke in-home design service focusing on the living room and master bedroom as the foundation, two key areas for relaxation and comfort.
Let’s take you on a tour throughout the home, captured beautifully by photographer Annelise Dimech of Life InStill.
The entrance sets the tone for the entire home, a blend of clean lines and refined elegance. The Square Chinese Stool provides a grounding place and a practical piece to remove footwear and pause for a moment upon entry.
The Original Art by Natalie Uhrik serves as the main focal point in the entrance. This piece is an exploration of colour and texture. It represents spirit, love and peace aligning with the desired feeling in this home .The Harriet Throw Moss and Matilda Cushion Beige add subtle texture and warmth, inviting you to explore further.
The living room is a large, open space where grey cladding creates an effective backdrop to the warmth of an inviting open fireplace. Here, the interplay of textures and light fosters an atmosphere of relaxation and finesse, perfect for both intimate gatherings and quiet moments.
"Every choice, from the fabrics to the accessories, was made to enhance the overall feeling of this space—welcoming, yet sophisticated," explained our Interior Stylist.
Layering the space using pieces such as the Willow Cushion Natural, Verdure, Petra, Cumbria, and Cassia Cushions and the Petra Throw to create a cozy yet refined atmosphere.
The Wabi Throw in Natural lends a layer of soft warmth, while the Indian Wooden Horse and Sea Foam Vase injects unique character and engaging textures. The Alfie Sofa, Keilani Sofa, and Yves Occasional Chair offer comfortable and inviting seating, their diverse fabrics harmonising beautifully with the room's design.
The Harper Coffee Table is styled thoughtfully with the Glass Cloche for soft mood lighting and a curated collection of books, "A Home for All Seasons," "Tasmania Living," "Outside In," and "Vine Culture". Each element contributes to the room's refined aesthetic. The ‘Tuscan Orchard’ faux florals Olive Bunch adds a touch of organic greenery, completing the space.
The master bedroom boasts ample space and breathtaking views of towering gum trees, their branches whispering tales of time. Doors open onto a wraparound balcony, blurring the lines between indoors and out, while sheer window furnishings gently filter the natural light.
"We carefully selected pieces that balanced the practical with the luxurious, ensuring the space was both serene and functional to suit the relaxing atmosphere of the Southern Highlands," the Interior Stylist noted.
The Retreat Linen Bedhead and Bedouin Linen Bedcover in Natural* create a soft, inviting bed, complimented by the Bedouin Long Lumbar Cushion Natural and Etro Olive Stripe Cushions. The Timo Occasional Chair, nestled with Verdure Cushions and a Petra Throw, creates a cozy reading corner, while the Chinese Workers Stool provides a rustic counterpoint, grounding the space with its earthy charm.
The ensuite, a sanctuary of refined simplicity and relaxation, features a Square Chinese Stool offering a moment to pause, while the Chickpea Bathmat grounds the space with its tactile texture. The Arya Tray, housing Body Oil and Hand and Body Wash, elevates the daily ritual into a pampering experience.
